Breakfast in "The Lady Lounge"

What a wonderful way to start my day. Reading a garden book and BACON in the Lady Lounge.
What's blooming today! I sure hope some of these will still be in bloom during the garden walk.

Our Garden Made the PAPER!!!

Our garden was featured in a article called "Trash to Treasure"

YardMD, really captured all our hard work in his story. I feel so honored to be able to share my love of gardening, but even more the love of re-purposing and using them to accent my garden. You can read the story here.

Old Board and Thrifted Frames

When we cleaned out my Mother-in-laws garage getting ready for her estate sale. I found this board and LOVED the color and all the imperfections it held. I have had it for YEARS not knowing what to do with it. Then I was at a thrift store the other day and I found these really cute frames with the letters on the glass that spelled out "garden" I thought PERFECT.

It's a perfect match to the wreath I made from my Mother-in-laws old hose and some of her garden tools.

Perfect fit with all of my re-purposed items.

Ladder Updated

Decided the buckets on the ladder needed some of my signature color. While I was at it, decided to add some numbers also. Added a watering can with some crystals to the end of it. A garden can always use some bling in my world.

Remember the Fairy House?

Well, we finally got to plant the Fairy House. Hailey our little helper came over and we planted that, plus a few extra fairy gardens. Once you start making these, it's hard to stop.

Front Yard

Decided the front bed by the bike needed to be spruced up a little. Moved some hostas around and added some new ones also.
Decided to plant red impatiens in the bike baskets this year. Who doesn't love red and teal together? It also goes with all the coleus  I planted in all the planters around the house.

New Planters

The new planters I made are filling in nicely and make a nice welcome to people entering the garden area. The Garden Walk is July 12 and I still have lots to do. But I am getting there slowly but surely.

Garden Tool Mailbox

I got this idea from Flea Market Gardening's Facebook page to use a mailbox in the garden to hold your tools. Easy access. I found this mailbox at the Habitat ReStore Store for only $8.00...it even came with the post. Of course, I had to glam it up a little. I added the top piece (a Goodwill find for $1.19) Some plastic edging that was cut down and painted white. Of course the crowning jewel is the nob I got at Hobby Lobby at 50% off. Adding a bracket to hold my weeding pail. Can't wait to get the wash tub planted I used as a base. It puts the crowing touch on The Lady Lounge.

Painting instead of planting.

Some old pails, painters tape and Annie Sloan Chalk paint will make some very charming pots to use in our garden.

I still want to add some words to these and then lightly sand them to age them. Have not decided what I will plant in them yet. I will update this posting when I do get them planted and displayed in our garden.
