Got this awesome arbor at Goodwill today. Paid $29.00 for it. Can't wait to replace my old metal one with this one come spring.

Garden Photos
A few garden photo's in the middle of August. The mornings are cooler and fall flowers are in full bloom. Where did our summer go? I am not ready for the cold harsh WI winters.
Garden Path=Garden Walk
and the rest of the story.....
Each year for the pass three years Mike has added to the cobber-stone pathway. Using one of those forms and bags of cement. Mike will finish it this year. It starts out at our patio and winds though the garden then to the entrance of the Lady Lounge.we found out last week.....IT"S OFFICIAL we will be in the 2014 Emergency Shelter Fox Valley Garden Walk. I have already started to divide and move some of my plants. I usually do that in the spring, but I want them to be in the spot I am keeping them so they all look good in spring. That will also give me more time to do more annuals to add some color to my hosta garden.

Hailey's Secret Garden Finished
I picked Miss Hailey up after work today so we could finish up her garden. Flowers are added and she helped to mulch the area. Then she got to sign her big rock making sure everyone knows that this area is hers.
Hard at work |
So happy with her work. |
Her garden...her rock. |
All finished...and Rufus can't get to the front yard now. |
She also helped Mike with edging the grass. She really enjoys getting dirty
The best part of gardening...is ICE CREAM in the Lady Lounge!Sunday, July 21, 2013
Second Day of Fence Building
Here she is figuring out how to change the battery in her favorite tool of all. |
Both of them so hard at work |
On to the painting part. |
Yup, you can tell she painted. |
They are so proud of their hard work |
Rufus checking it out. |
The best part of both days...ICE CREAM TREATS when we finished. |
She added all the tools she used and her name and date. |

Fencing in the side yard to keep Puppy Safe
Hailey took a wood working class in summer school and she learned an important lesson. Measure twice cut once.
On to the next section. Using a sledge hammer to pound in 4 by 4 anchor. She is so happy to learn about the next new tool she got to use.

Outside Hanging Chandelier
I need a light by my new table and chairs. So I headed to ReStore to see what I could find. |
$10.00 light fixture from ReStore |
Removed all the wiring and lampshades |
Drilled small holes to add some bling |
Purchased these at the Dollar Store last Christmas |
Painted it with Annie Sloan Provence Chalk Paint |
Added canning jars and set solar lights inside the jars |
Just the right touch for my new table & chairs |
Coffee anyone? |
Plastic Garden Table & Chairs
Plastic garden table and chairs I got from my sister. It was originally white and she had spray painted it brown. I will give you one guess what color I am going to paint it.
We took it all apart to make it easier to paint. I am using Annie Sloan Provence and Old Ochre to highlight the details.
Had to highlight the details. |
It really makes the details pop |
In my garden. Thanks Lorie |
